Pastor Iren Emmanuel has made a bold statement about gospel rapper Greatman Takit, declaring that among all rappers in Nigeria, his money is on the gospel music minister. The pastor made the remark while sharing what he described as a hot take, drawing laughter and applause from those present.
“Of all the rappers in Nigeria, I’m not saying in church, of all the rappers in Nigeria, my money is on Greatman Takit,” Iren Emmanuel said. His statement generated an enthusiastic reaction from the audience.
“I’m Not Capping”: Pastor Iren Emmanuel Stands by His Opinion
Following the reaction, the pastor emphasised that he was serious about his assessment. “I’m not capping,” he said, using the popular expression to make it clear that he was not exaggerating or joking. However, he was careful to explain that his statement represented his personal opinion. “Personal opinion. I don’t mean to be disrespectful,” he added.
“I Didn’t Say He’s the Best”
Pastor Iren Emmanuel further clarified that saying his money was on Greatman Takit did not mean he was declaring him the best rapper in Nigeria. “I said my money is on… I didn’t say he’s the best. You understand the difference? I’m being political now,” he said, drawing more laughter from the audience.
His clarification distinguished between expressing confidence in an artiste and making an outright ranking of every rapper in the country. The comment has brought attention to Greatman Takit’s place in Nigeria’s music conversation, particularly within the gospel rap scene. Iren Emmanuel’s statement was ultimately an expression of personal confidence in the rapper and his music, rather than a declaration that he had been officially ranked above other Nigerian rappers.
