We can now stream a sermon from anywhere in the world. That is a gift, and we are grateful for it. But nothing fully replaces what happens when believers gather in one place with one accord.
Revival has always had a room
On the day of Pentecost, the disciples “were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1). The Holy Spirit fell on a gathering. Throughout history, great revivals were marked by crusades, camp meetings and prayer gatherings where people came hungry and left transformed.
What happens when we gather
- Faith is multiplied. Your faith is strengthened by the faith of those around you.
- Worship is amplified. There is something powerful about many voices lifting one name.
- Connections are made. Friendships, mentorships and ministries are born in the lobby as much as in the service.
- Encounters happen. Many people can point to one meeting where everything changed.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25).
